I left Bangkok around 7 am, of course, with coffee and snacks ready for the drive. It took about 3 hours and a bit to reach Hua Hin; the beach atmosphere was already starting to build! I chose to take the Burapha Viithi Expressway plus Phetkasem Road. Hua Hin is a very convenient city, perfect for those who want a relaxing weekend getaway without needing to take a long leave from work.
Upon arriving in Hua Hin, the first thing I did was go to Hua Hin Beach. The sea was very calm in the morning. The breeze and gentle sunlight were so refreshing. I relaxed on the beach for a while, took a walk, and of course, had to have photos with the azure sea and bright sky like this!
When in Hua Hin, you can't miss seafood! I chose a famous restaurant in Hua Hin known for its fresh seafood, Pla Too Restaurant, or if you prefer a beachfront atmosphere, Je Khiao Seafood. Of course, I ordered "crab curry" and "grilled prawns." The seafood dipping sauce was incredibly delicious! I enjoyed the sea view while eating – I completely forgot about my diet!
After finishing our meal, we could continue on to the Klai Kangwon Palace, a historically significant place and a royal retreat. Alternatively, we could choose to visit Wat Huay Mongkol to pay respects to the large statue of Luang Pu Thuat, which is another great option. The afternoon sun is slightly less intense, making for a pleasant sightseeing experience.
If you want a panoramic view of Hua Hin city, I recommend going to Khao Hin Lek Fai. From this spot, you can clearly see both the sea and Hua Hin city. It's a beautiful photo spot that everyone should have on their list.
After a day of sightseeing, I choose to check into a beachfront hotel or resort. There are many types of accommodations, from luxurious hotels to charming, more affordable resorts. Sleeping to the sound of the waves from my balcony is truly blissful relaxation.
Tonight we're heading to Hua Hin Night Market. This market is open every day from evening until late. Here you'll find local food, snacks, and souvenirs. I highly recommend trying the grilled squid and mango sticky rice. They also have delicious roti that you'll want to buy to take home! Enjoy a leisurely stroll, sample the tasty treats, and shop for souvenirs before heading back to your room for a good night's sleep.
I woke up early to go for a walk on the beach. I chose Khao Takiab Beach. It's quiet and has a great atmosphere, perfect for a stroll along the beach and watching the sunrise. You can also climb up the hill for an even more amazing view of the sea from a high vantage point.
After enjoying the view, we walked back to have breakfast at a nearby restaurant. There were many local eateries serving dishes like seafood noodles or fusion-style pan-fried eggs. Enjoying a delicious meal in this local atmosphere was incredibly satisfying.
For lunch today, I chose to go to Chatchai Market, a fresh market selling both fresh produce and ready-to-eat food. I ordered simple dishes like sticky rice with fried chicken or tom yum seafood noodles, both with a spicy kick and affordable prices, perfect for refueling before continuing my journey.
Before heading back, I made sure to stop by Swiss Sheep Farm, a charming farm perfect for taking photos and doing activities with sheep. The farm is decorated in a lovely European style, the atmosphere is great, and there are plenty of activities to do, such as feeding the sheep or horseback riding, which is incredibly fun.
It's time to head back to Bangkok. The journey takes about 3 hours. That concludes my amazing two-day, one-night trip to Hua Hin, filled with delicious food, sightseeing, and relaxation.
In summary: This 2-day, 1-night trip to Hua Hin is perfect for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and relax by the sea quickly. It also allows you to visit a variety of places in a short time, making it a very budget-friendly and worthwhile trip.
